Discovering Art and Art History

It has been a while since the last time I tried to delve into art and art history. I have to be honest and say that after writing the post on looking, I completely psyched myself out. Art and the history of it are very complicated, subjective topics that many scholars take lifetimes to consider. Simple blog posts about them seemed frivolous.

But ever since in the back of my mind, almost daily, I was thinking about how to write about it. Then over the holidays, many of you mentioned to me how much you would like to know about art and that you were looking forward to me taking you on that journey.

So this is my plan - every other Tuesday I will write about a destination and the other about art. I plan on discussing the art market, it's key players, and covering topics in 20th century art, which I consider to be the most exciting to me and elusive to the average museum goer {Have you ever said to yourself, my kid could do that?}.
